A native of Montreal, he earned his bachelor’s degree at McGill University in 1976, his PhD from Harvard in 1979, and taught at Harvard, Stanford, and MIT before returning to Harvard in 2003. Dr. Stella Karantzoulis is the founder of Modern Brain Center, offering modern clinical neuropsychological services to a wide range of individuals with suspected or known disorders of the central nervous system. Dr. Karantzoulis has extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, seizure disorders, and learning disorders at all levels. Dr. Karantzoulis' clinical and research interests focus on the early identification of Alzheimer's disease (e.g., mild cognitive impairment and pre-clinical phases) and the development of novel therapeutic approaches in this population. Her clinical practice specializes in the neuropsychological evaluation of memory disorders, dementia, and other neurobehavioral syndromes (including epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumor). She is one of the few board-certified clinical neuropsychologists in New York to offer individualized as well as group-oriented approaches to memory intervention. Dr. Karantzoulis obtained her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 2006, Dr. Karantzoulis completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, followed by a 2-year clinical post-doctoral residency in the Department of Neurology, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, at New York University Langone Medical Center (NYULMC).

He was formerly a Senior Scientist and Neuroscience Director of the Tactile Communication and Neuromodulation Laboratory (TCNL), Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Dr. Danilov earned an MA in Biophysics from St. Petersburg University in Russia in 1978 and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Pavlov Institute of Physiology in 1984. He is a system neuroscientist with expertise in sensory studies, including vision, taste, hearing, and balance. Professor Dr. Peifeng Li obtained his doctoral degree at the Chinese Academy of Medical Science. He worked as a medical researcher at the Max-Delbruck-Center for Molecular Medicine, Germany. He is currently the Dean of Institute of Translational Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Qingdao, China. His research focuses on the molecular regulation of cardiovascular diseases and cancers. He is one of the pioneer researchers in deciphering the role of microRNAs in heart diseases including cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial infarction and heart failure. Nidia Arechiga-Ceballos holds a degree in Biology from the School of Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. She completed her Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Biochemical Sciences at the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biologicas of the Instituto Politecnico Nacional. She has been a guest researcher at different institutions, including: Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas; the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France; and the Division of High-Consequence Pathogens and Pathology, in the Poxvirus and Rabies Branch of the USA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed a post-doc at the Unit for Viral Isolation and Detection of the National Center for Microbiology at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III in Madrid, Spain. In 2012, she won Mexico’s national prize for Scientific Journalism and Outreach. She belongs to the Mexican Network of Virology and the Latin American Society for Vector Ecology. She is currently technical support at the Diagnosis and Reference Direction of the Mexican Reference Laboratory InDRE, formerly she was the Chief of the Rabies Laboratory and coordinated the National Network of Public Health Laboratories for Rabies Diagnosis.
